Re-Engagement Plan – FAQs

Why do we have a Re-Engagement Plan?

The College’s goal is to be fully in-person by the fall 2021 term. This Plan is intended to provide guidance on returning to fully in-person conditions.

What does this timeline mean?

The timeline focuses on the services and experiences of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the College. Supervisors will determine the coverage for each area.

I do not typically work during the summer. Does this timeline mean that I have to come to campus?

No. The Plan does not change the pre-pandemic conditions of a person’s position. If someone typically does not work during the month of July, the person is not expected to come to campus during the month of July.

What is Transition Time?

Transition Time is a temporary classification for paid time off in addition to vacation and emergency time. Transition Time is intended to support the personal needs of benefits-eligible colleagues.

How much Transition time do I get?

Benefits-eligible staff members are eligible for up to 24 hours per year, between July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022.

How do I use Transition Time?

Transition Time should be requested through your department’s regular time off processes.

How do I account for use of my Transition Time?

Bi-weekly paid staff should use the newly created paycode called Transition Time. Monthly staff should track their Transition Time within the department.

How long do I have to use Transition Time?

Transition Time will end one year from the Restart Plan implementation, so Transition Time will end on June 30, 2022.

What happens if I do not use all of the Transition Time allotted to me?

Unused Transition Time will be added to Emergency Time balances shortly after June 30, 2022.

Health and safety guidelines are changing regularly. How do I know what is expected of me?

Throughout the pandemic, the College has taken a conservative approach to COVID safety protocols. We will continue to use public health guidance, federal, state, and local regulations, local conditions, and best practice to inform how College policy will continue to evolve.
