Staff Group Executive Committee

Committee’s Charge

The Staff Group aims to promote information sharing, community building, and participation in College governance through regular meetings. Composed of staff members from various departments across the College, the group provides a platform for guest speakers, news updates, and discussions on campus-related matters. It also fosters a sense of community among staff and encourages active involvement in College governance initiatives. The Staff Group specifically supports individuals whose primary role at K is not teaching and who are not part of the executive team.

The Staff Executive Committee will organize two staff meetings each academic term (a total of six per year). These meetings will be held in a hybrid format. The EC will create and post the meeting agenda, recordings, and minutes in the Staff Group Files on Teams.

Selection and Appointment

The Executive Committee (EC) will consist of at least three and no more than seven members, all of whom must have completed at least one year of employment at the College. EC members are elected by the Staff Group and serve two-year terms. The EC must include at least one salaried staff member, one hourly staff member, and one facilities staff member. The committee’s membership will be staggered to ensure continuity from year to year, with representatives from different departments across the College.

Time Commitment

Approximately 1 – 2 hours per month (not including the scheduled meetings)
