Health, dental, and vision insurance continues with ASR for pre-65 retirees.

Your health insurance payment can be made online on Hornet HQ. Please visit HornetHQ Payment Instructions for assistance.

Retirees gain access to the Emeriti Health Savings account, manage by TIAA. For your convenience, Emeriti offers an option, no fee, Rx Debit Card.

Rx Optical provides the RX Optical Vision Advantage Program to all Kalamazoo College retirees, regardless of eligibility for other benefits. If you are interested in the program please visit Miasha Wilson in Human Resources to pick up a discount card and a RX Optical Vision Advantage Program Coupon. If you would like a card sent to your home address, please email HR.Benefits@kzoo.edu.

Life Insurance

You can receive a benefit amount of $3,500 through Unum.

Beneficiaries – Please use the Unum Beneficiary Designation Form to name your life insurance beneficiaries.

Definition of Retirement at Kalamazoo College

Retirement eligibility is defined by the College as minimum age 55 years with at least ten years of continuous service, or for late hires, minimum age 65 years with at least five years of continuous service. Benefit eligible employees who participate in the Emeriti Retirement Health Plan and who terminate employment after attaining retirement eligibility as defined under the Plan are eligible for certain health benefits in retirement.
