Emeriti/TIAA will not be traveling due to the Coronvirus pandemic World wide and will not be on campus this fall 2020 for 2021 enrollment.

Aetna Medicare Advantage Enrollment packets were mailed by Emeriti mid-October 2020.

2021 Aetna Medicare Advantage enrollment will be a passive enrollment. If you are happy with your coverage you need to do nothing. Your insurance cards will stay the same.

If you do elect to make changes for 2021 to your Aetna Medicare Advantage plan you may get new cards depending on the elections you make.

Information for pre-age 65 retirees


Health, dental, and vision insurance continues with ASR for pre-65 retirees. Please contact Human Resources for retiree premiums.

Your health insurance payment can be made online on Hornet HQ. Please visit HornetHQ Payment Instructions for assistance.

Pre-65 Open Enrollment – Pre-65 retirees, spouses and dependents can enroll now by clicking here. Enrollment forms must be completed online by 11:59pm June 1st, 2020. If you have questions please contact Jennifer.Williams@Kzoo.edu.

Vision Program – Rx Optical provides the RX Optical Vision Advantage Program to all Kalamazoo College retirees, regardless of eligibility for other benefits. If you are interested in the program please visit Jenn Williams in Human Resources to pick up a discount card and a RX Optical Vision Advantage Program Coupon. If you would like a card sent to your home address, please email HR.Benefits@kzoo.edu.

Life Insurance – You can receive a benefit amount of $3,500 through Unum.

Beneficiaries – Please use the Unum Beneficiary Designation Form to name your life insurance beneficiaries.

Definition of Retirement at Kalamazoo College

Retirement eligibility is defined by the College as minimum age 55 years with at least ten years of continuous service, or for late hires, minimum age 65 years with at least five years of continuous service. Benefit eligible employees who participate in the Emeriti Retirement Health Plan and who terminate employment after attaining retirement eligibility as defined under the Plan are eligible for certain health benefits in retirement.
