Brief Description

Custodian is responsible for cleaning assigned buildings from top to bottom, side to side, including lounges, kitchens, public and private bathrooms, stairs, halls, custodial closets, windows, doors and walls. Must be able use a variety of cleaning products and to operate equipment including vacuums, carpet extractors, slow and high speed buffers.

• Floor / ground surface: Tile, wood and carpet floors campus wide
• Temperature / humidity: Unconditioned and conditioned indoor areas
• Inside (% shift): 90-95%
• Outside (% shift): 5-10%
• Lighting: Varies, usually normal indoor lighting
• Vibration: Vacuum cleaners, floor cleaning equipment
• Spatial characteristics: Varies from small closets and corridors to large auditorium
