Post Baccalaureate Fellow in Art (Part-Time)

Reporting to the Art Department Chair or other assigned faculty, the Post Baccalaureate Fellow in Art is a part-time, term-based fellowship supporting advanced studio practice and student mentorship. The position spans three eleven-week academic terms, with weekly schedules determined in consultation with the supervisor, and is renewable for up to two years based on performance. In addition to hourly compensation, the fellowship includes dedicated studio space, access to departmental facilities, and exhibition opportunities. In this role, you will:

  • Serve as studio manager for the department’s off-campus studio, overseeing advanced student use of the space
  • Mentor senior art students during exhibition preparation and coordinate reflective learning activities
  • Manage senior project review schedules and related communications
  • Monitor studio facilities and equipment, coordinate supplies, and initiate work orders as needed
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, building management, and community partners
  • Assist with exhibitions, events, field trips, and weekly department meetings
  • Supervise on-campus gallery assistants and support additional department projects as time allows
  • Serve as a teaching assistant for one or more studio courses, as assigned

  • Hold an undergraduate degree with coursework in studio art (two or more years post-degree preferred)
  • Are a practicing studio artist eager to develop your portfolio
  • Are organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
  • Communicate clearly through written, verbal, and visual means
  • Have interest or experience in leadership, social justice, and/or civic engagement
  • Are comfortable with Adobe Creative Suite and Excel (helpful, not required)
  • Are willing to learn hands-on studio operations, including equipment and tools
