Position Summary

Kalamazoo College seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach to support the growth and success of our NCAA Division III program. The ideal candidate will embrace the College’s commitment to the student-athlete experience, competitive excellence, and the values of teamwork, leadership, and academic achievement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the head coach in the organization, planning, and execution of all aspects of the women’s lacrosse program.
  • Support practice planning, skill development, and game-day coaching.
  • Attend practices, games and provide individual lesson times.
  • Attend and travel with the team on spring break (in March usually 9-11 days).
  • Mentor and develop student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally in alignment with the mission of Kalamazoo College.
  • Assist in recruiting student-athletes who will thrive academically and contribute to a competitive program.
  • Contribute to team travel arrangements, film breakdown, scouting reports, and opponent analysis.
  • Promote a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship, integrity, and inclusion.
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA, MIAA, and institutional policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the head coach or athletic department.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and will also demonstrate many of the following skills, abilities, and characteristics:

  • Knowledge of the game of women’s lacrosse, with experience as a coach and/or player.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience.
  • Familiarity with NCAA Division III philosophy and recruiting.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
