Mental Health/Substance Abuse and Employee Assistance Program

Kalamazoo College offers an expanded, integrated Mental Health/Substance Abuse (MHSA) and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefit. These services are offered through Behavioral Health Systems, Inc. (BHS).

Your BHS Care Coordinator will assist with benefits, eligibility, and provider availability for concerns such as

~ Parent-Child Conflict ~ Grief ~ Coping After Tragedy ~
~ Depression and Anxiety ~ Work-Related Problems ~

Did you know? All Kalamazoo College employees have access to the Employee Assistance Program, including six (6) free visits with a counselor. Members of Kalamazoo College’s health program have fully integrated services with ASR. Just show your ASR health card!

EAP and Mental Health/Substance Abuse Benefits

EAP Benefits Include (available to all employees and their dependents):

  • Six (6) visits/consults per year (including counseling services that you would normally use your medical plan for)
  • Coverage for: marriage and family, stress, financial/legal, and work/life balance
  • Full service Member Access Portal (www.behavioralhealthsystems.com, Employer ID: KZC)

Mental Health/Substance Abuse Benefit Include (available to employees and dependents enrolled in Kalamazoo College-sponsored medical plan):

  • Inpatient and outpatient benefits
  • Copays, coinsurance, and deductibles match your medical plan equivalent
