Short-Term Disability
All benefits-eligible faculty and staff are eligible for compensation continuation, paid at 60%, for up to six months in the event of the employee’s own serious health condition. This benefit is subject to approved medical support, is paid through payroll, and is taxable. Employees may use available vacation and/or sick/emergency time up to 100% of their regular pay during an approved medical leave of absence. Long-Term Disability
Current employees who remain off work for a certified medical reason longer than 6 months and have been a benefits eligible employee for 1 year or more, unless turned in an eligible waiver with prior proof of creditable service. Disability insurance provides you a source of income (60% of your regular income up to a maximum monthly benefit of $8,000) in the event you are off work due to a non-work-related injury or sickness.
