Kalamazoo College is saddened by the passing of Dr. George M. Nielsen. George retired from the Mathematics department in 1999.
George was unfailingly kind, thoughtful and honest. I met him in 1963, when he entered K and we were friends ever since. Even when his memory left him, his basic nature did not change. I am grateful for all the years I knew him.
The memorial for George will take place on Saturday, October 28 at 3pm in the Dalton Theater of the Light Fine Arts Building.
