Position Summary

Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, MI, an NCAA Division III, liberal arts institution in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, is seeking to fill a position as Assistant Athletic Trainer.  Kalamazoo College sponsors 18 varsity sports with approximately 350 athletes including football. This 11-month, benefits-eligible position reports to the Head Athletic Trainer.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Athletic Trainer position is responsible for assisting in coordinating and administering the delivery of sports medicine services to all athletes including, but not limited to: injury prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of athletic injuries, short-term and long-term rehabilitation of athletic injuries, education and counseling of student-athletes, and athletics related health care administration in consultation with and under the supervision of the team Physician(s) and other qualified medical personnel.  Additional responsibilities include supervision of student interns; teaching courses in the PE Department and administrative duties as assigned by the head athletic trainer and/or athletic director.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree and NATA-BOC certification, Michigan licensure or be eligible for Michigan licensure, and the ability to work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends.
