Subject: Important Security Changes to Your FSA Online Portal and Mobile App

As part of Burnham and Flower’s (BFG) continuing efforts to reduce the risk of fraud to you, they are making a change to the WealthCare Portal (WCP) and WealthCare Mobile (WCM) user registration process.  The new process is intended to make registration easier and more secure.  On November 11, 2023, they will introduce an additional identity verification step during registration that sends a one-time passcode (OTP) to an email address or phone number.  OTPs are unique, randomly generated alphanumeric codes and are among the most widely used fraud risk protection measures across virtually all industries and a common feature of modern applications.

What do you need for OTP?

To enable OTP, all new registrants will need to have either an SMS-enabled phone number or email address on file with BFG, your administrator, before you can register and create a username and password on WCP or WCM. As a result, it is important that they have this information on record for you or you will not be able to self-register. If the participant attempts to login to WCP or WCM and they do not have an SMS-enabled phone number or email address on file, they will be prompted to contact BFG’s office for authentication.

How does it work?

Whenever a new participant attempts to register in WCP or WCM for the first time, BFG will send them an OTP via SMS to their phone or via email. The participant must input this code in the system to complete the registration process.

What if the participant does not have a valid email address or phone number on record?

Participants who have not provided a valid email address and phone number will not be able to self-register through WCP or WCM and will be prompted to call BFG’s TPA service department at 888-748-7966 ext. 3176 to authenticate their request and have that information added to their demographic record.

Please contact Courtney Rietkerk at 888-748-7966 ext. 3176 or crietkerk@bfgroup.com  with any questions.
