Position Summary
The Guest Experience Assistant is the welcoming face of the Office of Admission for all visitors and guests. Working as a member of a two-person team, the Guest Experience Assistant delivers the first impression of the Kalamazoo College community. You will jointly craft, implement and model high quality, hospitality-focused experiences for prospective students, parents and guests of the College.

Work Environment and Context
- Work schedule varies and may include working on weekends.
- Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions as a member of a two-person team:
- Partner to oversee the Visit Experience Plan, which provides a unique, fun and effective strategy for ownership of physical spaces that affect guests.
- Co-coordinate, manage and oversee all group visits and admission program events at the College.
- Work closely and collaboratively as a team with the Guest Experience Coordinator to oversee reception for the Office of Admission, including oversight of student workers and management of incoming phone calls, messages and email communications.
- Be an Office of Admission’s liaison with coaches, faculty, and Kalamazoo community members.
- Support the guest experience and satisfaction throughout the entire visit experience, including first contact and interactions with other campus units.
- Collect and evaluate feedback and other data on the visit experience. Implement changes and enhancements as needed.
- Be responsible for maintaining current initiatives and for new visit experience initiatives.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate many of the following skills, abilities, and characteristics:
- Be incredibly friendly and guest centric.
- 2-3 years of related experience, preferably in the hospitality or service industry.
- The skills to consistently deliver exceptional guest service and experiences.
- The ability to ensure that College policies and brand standards are consistently applied.
- Meticulous data management and tracking capabilities.
- Exemplary communication and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to maintain positive relationships with all constituencies.
- Have strong computer skills, comfort working in a database, and willingness to learn new systems.
- Have an appreciation and understanding of the value and cost of a K education.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy, attention to detail and professionalism.
