Kalamazoo College is seeking a reliable and motivated Facilities Support team member to help meet the day-to-day logistical and general labor needs of campus operations. This position reports to the Architectural Trades Coordinator and plays an important role in supporting a wide range of facilities management activities.
Facilities Management work varies daily, and team members may occasionally be asked to assist outside their primary areas of responsibility. Flexibility, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are essential.
Occasional overtime and emergency call-ins are required. Work assignments may vary based on operational needs. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. The hourly rate will be determined at the time of offer. đź”— Apply via Indeed
In this role, you will:
- Move and deliver materials both on and off campus
- Move, assemble, and arrange furniture
- Set up and support campus events based on a daily schedule
- Perform basic grounds maintenance tasks
- Assist with waste management activities
- Support interior and exterior maintenance alongside skilled trades staff
- Respond to varying daily work assignments within Facilities Management
- Use a computerized maintenance management system to receive and track work orders
- Communicate professionally using college email

- Are adaptable and willing to take on a variety of tasks
- Have basic technology skills and can learn systems for tracking work orders
- Hold a valid Michigan driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Take pride in supporting campus operations and contributing to a positive team culture
- Are physically capable of performing demanding work in a variety of environments
This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to:
- Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Move throughout campus buildings and grounds
- Lift up to 75 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds
- Climb ladders and work from roofs or elevated platforms
- Work in a variety of positions, including confined spaces
- Use tools safely and effectively
