Kalamazoo College seeks a detail‑oriented, student‑centered Financial Aid Specialist to join our Office of Financial Aid. This full‑time, benefits‑eligible role is the primary customer service contact for students and families, supporting daily operations and ensuring a welcoming, inclusive experience.

In this role, you will:
- Advise students and families on FAFSA, loan options, and financial aid eligibility.
- Review and verify financial aid applications; resolve discrepancies; maintain accurate records.
- Manage student files using data imaging software and financial aid systems (Ellucian/Colleague, Slate, MiSSG, studentaid.gov).
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including Title IV.
- Coordinate communications, presentations, workshops, and front‑office operations.
- Support office processes, supply orders, equipment maintenance, and system improvements.
You’re a great fit if you have:
- An associate degree (or equivalent) and 3+ years of customer service experience, ideally in higher education.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Experience with student information systems and Microsoft Office.
- A commitment to excellent customer service and working with diverse populations.
- Spanish fluency (highly desired).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
