ASR Healthcare Choices + Rewards Program

Dear Colleagues,

Did you know that healthcare costs vary by location?
Did you know that you can estimate healthcare costs and “shop” for planned procedures?
Did you know that you can earn money for choosing a reward-able location?

Starting, 9/1/2022, ASR launched a new Healthcare Choices and Rewards program.  This program gives you the ability to “shop” for medical services and provides a reward for certain services when your visit a recommended location.  We have created a webpage with more information regarding this program and included frequently asked questions.  If there are any questions or concerns, please let us know.

Be well,

Miasha, and Renee

Get the Care You Need!

Whether through the EAP or your medical insurance, help is here when you need it.

Utilize the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Free + confidential for all employees and their immediate family members – K College does not get information about who is using this service. Receive up to 3 counseling sessions per year, per household. Also explore online resources for work/life balance, substance abuse, dependent/elder care assistance + referral, etc.

A script to get you started

Hello – I am interested in starting therapy. I would like to use my free counseling sessions through my Unum EAP with Kalamazoo College. I am seeking therapy because…

  • I struggle with anxiety and it’s affecting my life.
  • I’ve been having negative thoughts about myself and want to talk about it.
  • I experienced a traumatic event and need help processing it.
  • My partner and I are going through a divorce and would like for our child to talk to someone.
  • I need financial counseling and I’m not sure where to start.
  • I have an aging parent and need advice.

How soon can I set up an appointment?

If you are not ready to speak with someone, explore the online resources available

unum.com/lifebalance Click on “Access Your EAP Benefits.”

Utilize Your Medical Insurance

If you are enrolled in an ASR medical plan through K College:

Therapy Session | Black plan: $20 copay | Orange plan: $10 copay

Many prescription drugs used to treat mental health conditions offer generic options. The copay for generic drugs is $10 on the Black Plan and Orange Plan.

Pro Tip! Start small! If you haven’t explored mental health assistance before, start by just looking at your options and maybe come up with a script of your own for when you are ready to reach out!
